AUSTIN, Texas — The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is warning drivers about road closures in Arizona after a truck carrying drugs crashed into the Arizona border on Monday morning.

The crash occurred on Highway 85 near Baca in Ariz., and the truck, a pickup truck, was destroyed, NHTSA spokesman Ryan Edwards told reporters.

The trucker was a man in his 30s, and the driver of the other vehicle was a 32-year-old man who had a broken neck, Edwards said.

The driver of both vehicles was not injured.

The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) has opened a new highway to allow emergency vehicles to drive through the area.

The road will be open on Tuesday, Edwards added.
